Daniel
Selman joined the MOD after plying his librarian skills in academic,
newspaper, film and TV libraries. He subsequently diversified into
Internet/ Intranet management and project management before moving
on promotion to a generalist post as an Assistant Director in the
Chief Information Officer's Information Handling and Assurance Team.
Turning
the tanker: Implementing information handling and assurance in the
MOD
Following
high profile losses of personal data by HMRC and MOD, an Information
Handling and Assurance Team was established by MOD to implement
the recommendations of the Data Handling Review and Burton Report.
In an organisation as large and complex as MOD this would prove
an interesting challenge.
