Nick Stopforth

Nick is a Library and Information Officer working for Newcastle Libraries, based in the new city library, and has worked in public libraries for 8 years. As part of the Information and Digital staff team, Nick contributes to the development of Web2.0 services; Newcastle Libraries have developed a portfolio of Web2.0-based profiles (facebook, twitter, MySpace etc.), and have worked on several projects involving wikis and podcasting.

Libraries will evolve from behind their walls and engage customers in new ways using new technologies, without relying on the same methods of service delivery to the same customers. Innovation, variation, processes of continual improvement and customer participation will all play a part; those libraries using Web2.0 products are reaching towards these aims.
