libraries, Sharon requalified in human resources and has worked
as the Human Resources and Development Manager at Leeds University

Professional
education in the 21st century
Some
employers and graduates have questioned the value and relevance
of professional education for library and information work. Others
see both initial and continuing education as a future-proofing investment
in a fast-moving environment. In this panel discussion, representatives
of different employment sectors will exchange views on the fitness
for purpose of current education programmes and priorities for the
future.
