suppliers book up for 2009
Only
nine stands are now available for the Umbrella 2009 exhibition
with 80% sold and prime positions secured by leading suppliers of
products, services, systems and software. Among the companies
to sign up are 3M, OCLC, D-Tech, Dawson Books, and JISC TechDis
Service has become a sponsor.

Move
to midweek gives
delegates
new options
A number
of significant changes are being made to improve Umbrella's format
still further so in 2009 CILIP's member-led event meets the changing
needs of its community.
Based on
feedback from 2007, several new features will be introduced in 2009
- NEW
- Umbrella 2009 will take up just two full days - so
delegates need less time away from their work
- NEW
- Umbrella 2009 is moving to mid-week - so delegates
do not have to give up their weekend
- NEW
- Two full days of conference sessions will run from 10.15 on
Tuesday to 17.00 on Wednesday - still delivering a choice of 56
sessions
- NEW
-The exhibition will be open throughout the conference, and the
venue for all refreshments
- NEW
- Director of Studies for the 2009 programme is Ian
Snowley, Head of Education at the British Library, and CILIP's
Immediate Past President
Over the
years CILIP's biennial Umbrella Conference has
become a well-established, must attend event for
library professionals. However, Umbrella is
constantly evolving to meet members' demands as they face the challenge
of 21st century librarianship.
In 2007 more than 700
